Terms of Service

We generate personalized children's storybooks starring your pet. You upload photos and a few details; we use AI to create a 10-page illustrated story and deliver it as a high-resolution PDF. Optionally, you can order a printed copy that we have produced by a print-on-demand partner and shipped to you.

You must be at least 18 years old to place an order. You must own the rights to upload any photo you submit, and the photo must be of an animal you have permission to depict. Don't upload photos of other people's pets without their permission, and don't upload photos of humans except, optionally, the companion photo in the Best Friend Forever theme, where the depicted person must have consented.

Current pricing is shown on the site. The PDF is $9.99. An optional printed copy adds $29.99 (including US shipping). Payment is processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details.

Each book is custom-generated on demand. Once payment succeeds we begin the generation pipeline, which incurs real costs. All sales are final, with two exceptions: (a) if a printed copy arrives damaged or never arrives, we'll send a free replacement once you email support@pawthology.app with photos; and (b) if the AI gets something obviously wrong about your pet (the wrong species, miscolored markings, etc.) we'll regenerate the book or refund at our discretion.

The story and illustrations are generated by AI based on the inputs you provide. AI output is not perfect. Likenesses may not be exact. The narration may not match your pet's personality the way you would have written it yourself. By placing an order you acknowledge that the result is a creative interpretation generated by software, not a human-authored portrait. Our goal is for you to love the book; if you genuinely don't, email us and we'll try again.

You retain ownership of your input photos. We do not claim any rights in them beyond what is needed to fulfill your order.

We grant you a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use the generated book for personal, non-commercial purposes — read it, print it, gift it, post pictures of it on social media. You may not resell the book, the PDF, or derivative versions commercially without our written permission.

Note that under current US Copyright Office guidance, AI-generated images and text are generally not eligible for copyright protection in the United States. This means neither we nor you can register a copyright on the AI-generated content itself. Treat the book as a personal keepsake.

You may not use Pawthology to:

• Upload photos you do not have the right to share.
• Upload sexually explicit, hateful, violent, or illegal content. Our moderation will reject these and we may refuse service to repeat offenders.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to access our infrastructure.
• Use the Service to generate content depicting real, identifiable people without their consent.

We currently ship printed books to addresses in the United States only. Production plus delivery typically takes 7-10 business days. Tracking is provided by email when your book ships.

The Service is provided “as is.” To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise that AI output will be free of errors or that the Service will always be available.

To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is capped at the amount you paid for the order at issue. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.

If your use of the Service causes us legal trouble — for example, if you upload a photo you didn't own and the rights-holder sues us — you agree to cover our reasonable defense costs and any damages.

We may refuse or cancel orders that violate these terms (typically by issuing a full refund for the unfulfilled portion). You may stop using the Service at any time; email us to delete account data, subject to the retention requirements described in the Privacy Policy.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York.

We may update these terms occasionally. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
